The nearest station to Chique Shanti is Pernem station, the resort is at a distance of 18km from the Railway station, and it takes approximately 35 minutes to reach the resort via Taxi. I always wanted to see this part of Goa, Mandrem is a beautiful village in north goa, tucked away from the noise of the rest of the famous north goa beaches. I went to Querim beach first, and from there headed to Mandrem Beach. It was high tide that day, hence I couldn’t visit the querim caves. Anyway there is always a next time.
I booked Chique Shanti Resort based on google reviews. Keep reading to know more about this property.
FIRST IMPRESSION ABOUT CHIQUE SHANTI RESORT:
Okay. Everybody needs to seriously stop complaining about the connectivity of beach resorts to the main road. Naturally, such resorts are going to be at the end of main lanes, it’s a goddamn beach resort how will you spot it right next to a pharmacy store in the middle of the market? No, seriously though, common sense isn’t much common these days. Yes, the location is tucked away from the main road, and that is because the property has direct connectivity to the beach.
I found the entrance interestingly rustic, due to the off-season there weren’t many people around. There are 3 types of room available, depending on the view they provide. I had opted for a full sea view room. A few meters away from the entrance is their restaurant and bar. To the left is a cozy reading area, and a few steps above the restaurant are sea-view rooms. Chique means Elegant and posh, if I had to find a similar name for Chique shanti in Hindi, I would definitely name it SUKH-SHANTI, I’m not kidding, the location is fantastic, Sukh Shanti translated in English means happiness and peace. That is how you will feel during your stay at Chique shanti resort.
MY FIRST IMPRESSION ABOUT CHIQUE SHANTI RESORT WAS A STRONG 5/5.
HOW MUCH WOULD I RATE THE ROOMS OUT OF 5?
My room was neat and clean, sheets were fresh. There was a rustic wooden piece of furniture to hang clothes and handbags, I loved it a bit too much.
The view from the room was stunning. I would have loved it more if they didn’t have closed glass panels on the balcony. The balcony has a cozy seating space. Minimal décor, yet, it was eye-catching. The rooms and balcony are undoubtedly spacious, airy, and well-lit. There is enough space to move around, unlike a few pretentious and crampy places. The sea-view rooms are pricier; however, I feel the room and balcony do justice to the price. This place is a hidden gem of north goa. If you’re looking for peace and calm it’s a must-visit place.
As you all know I give honest unpaid reviews, I pay from my pocket for these trips and I have every right to appreciate things I loved about a certain place and also be honest about things I didn’t like so that it leaves scope for further improvement.
What I didn’t like about the Sea view room is the washroom jet was leaking and that really did disappoint me, there was a bad stench coming from the washroom, and after complaining twice, the maintenance staff came and sprayed some room freshener, that’s it. The hotel was Short staffed due to off-season and hence there were a few issues here and there which couldn’t be resolved as expected.
Hence, I would rate the rooms 4/5.

LET US RATE THE RESTAURANT AND AMBIENCE.
The view from the restaurant is absolutely stunning, you can see the beach and the ambiance is amazing, brightly lit, soft music, in short pleasant and soothing.
However, as they were short-staffed (As told by the manager) I faced quite a few issues with the food. Many items on the menu were not available. The cold beverage ordered by me was expired, and they didn’t have fresh stock of beverages. Even though the restaurant was practically empty I had to wait long hours to get my order. The food wasn’t as scrumptious as I wish it was. Only one staff member was attentive and kind. I found the manager a bit rude. On the last day I told him I would be reviewing the resort, he apologized for not being able to keep up to my expectations as they really were running low on staff.
I WOULD RATE THE RESTAURANT 3.5/5, I WILL DEFINITELY REVISIT DURING PEAK SEASON, WHEN THEY’RE NOT LOW ON STAFF, TO EXPERIENCE THEIR HOSPITALITY.
LOCATION WISE CHIQUE SHANTI IS A 100/5, I don’t know if that’s even a thing. However, once you go there you will understand why I am saying so. The beach is literally in front of the resort. Mandrem beach Is comparatively clean and less crowded. If you are a beach bum like me you will definitely love it. Perfect for solo travelers, family getaways, and a fun trip with friends.
RATING MY OVERALL EXPERIENCE:
Overall, the stay was good. Chique Shanti is my kind of jam, I loved the vibe, and their ambiance is worth every single penny you spend there. I had a few minor issues, which of course are negligible, as I already said there is always scope for improvement. Another trip is pending. I hope I get to visit Chique Shanti soon, during tourist season when the business is in full bloom. I wouldn’t want to miss their hospitality when they have a fully equipped kitchen and well-skilled staff.
OVERALL, I WOULD LIKE TO RATE CHIQUE SHANTI 4/5.
